About Me

Welcome to The Mundane Moments!

My name is Allyson Reid, and I’m thrilled you found my writings. As a wife of over ten years and a homeschooling mom to two energetic boys, I understand the beautiful chaos that comes with motherhood and life in general. Like you, I often find myself caught up in the mundane, feeling overwhelmed and guilty for my lack of consistency in the spiritual disciplines. So, I write essays about following Christ in the midst of this ordinary life. My conviction is that God asks us to glorify Him in everything we think, say, and do. That conviction is where this site gets its name.

I am also autistic. As I’ve come to understand more of how this impacts each moment, I’ve looked for writing that is scientifically accurate, but, more importantly, saturated with the Word. After finding little, I began writing the words I needed to hear five years ago. If I have questions about living faithfully as an autistic believer, I’m sure others do as well. Some of what I write here is for those Christians.

My essays have appeared at Gospel-Centered Discipleship, where “The Neurodivergent Believer” was one of their most-read articles in 2024. My other article, “The Power of Christ in My Inconsistent Life,” addresses my struggles with spiritual disciplines.

Here are some posts to guide you in reclaiming the ordinary moments.
